"Where do you think you came from?"
Our third Family History Day was held at the Old School on Sunday, 4th October, 2009. That year's theme was an invitation to Old School pupils to come along and bring any memorabilia to add to the Museum's archives. The Sussex Family History Group, Malcolm Lindfield with his family archive, Marion Woolgar and Joan Ham were all available throughout the day to give advice to 'would be' family history researches or those who needed further help. A display on the Old School was mounted and this attracted past pupils of the school who brought stories, photos and other memorabilia along. We were able to add to, as well as to correct names on some of the photographs we had on display. The Museum, which is of course housed in the Old School, which closed as a school in 1964, would like to produce an oral history of the Old School and 12 past pupils signed up to this.
If you were a Pupil of the Old School, or a member of your family was a pupil at the Old School, there is still a chance to add your memories, photographs and memorabilia to the heritage of Storrington by recording your memories at http://storringtonmuseum.org/blog/2009/08/20/the-old-school/

Inquiries requiring more detailed investigation will need the assistance of a qualified genealogical researcher. Initial contact should be made via familyhistory@storringtonmuseum.org
